Back in 2016, Cinema Australia published a couple of articles regarding Aaron Warwick’s mysterious new Australian film, Beast No More.
Those articles included an exclusive first look at images from the film, actor Dan Ewing’s casting announcement, and an interview with one of the film’s stars, Erin Connor.
To say we were excited about the film would be an understatement as we’re big fans of the film’s main cast including Ewing, Connor and Taya Calder-Mason, and the film’s writer and producer Jennifer Van Gessel – all of who we keep in regular contact with. But since then, all has been quiet on the news front regarding all things Beast No More.
Two years later, we finally have news that the film will have its world premiere at this year’s Monster Fest – a festival we have a tremendous amount of respect for, but rarely cover due to their lack of support for Cinema Australia.
Beast No More follows a young biologist, Mary Jane (Jessica Tovey), who focuses on lepidoptery (the study of moths and butterflies). Mary Jane doesn’t have the perfect life, she does however have what she considers the perfect son.
Tragedy strikes and Mary Jane’s world is disturbingly turned upside down. Fleeing reality she embarks upon a solitary bush project. In the isolated and surreal landscape it becomes clear that someone is stalking her camp. The opportunity to be a mother again presents itself, only it comes at a cost for Mary Jane and what’s left of her family.
We aim to bring you a lot more coverage regarding the film, so keep an eye on this website for further news.
