A new trailer has been released for Measure for Measure ahead of its cinema release on May 14.
Measure for Measure boasts a stellar Australian cast led by Hugo Weaving and includes rising stars Harrison Gilbertson and Megan Hajjar.
Measure for Measure is directed by Paul Ireland who also wrote the film with the late Damian Hill. Measure for Measure is Ireland’s followup to his critically acclaimed Pawno which won the Cinema Australia Best Film Award in 2016.
Measure for Measure is a contemporary reimagining of William Shakespeare’s play of the same name depicting the unlikely love that ignites between a modern Muslim girl and a local musician against a background of racial tension, amphetamines and gang culture, within a notorious inner-urban housing estate.
With themes of justice, loyalty and revenge, this compelling tale is also a raw study of the most basic, yet most complex of emotions – love – how we react to it, where we find it and how far we would go to keep it.
Measure for Measure co-stars Mark Leonard Winter, Daniel Henshall, Fayssal Bazzi, Doris Younane, Josh McConville, Christie Whelan Brown, Malcolm Kennard, Luke Lennox and John Brumpton.
Measure for Measure will screen in cinemas from May 14 through Umbrella Entertainment.
