The Hidden Well has started shooting on location in and around Melbourne including St Kilda, Elwood and Brighton.
The second feature film from director Robert Chuter (The Dream Children), The Hidden Well is a portmanteau feature film, composed of six standalone chapters all united by a stylistic cinematic framework and a strong ensemble cast including Michael Maxwell Loder, Jem Nichola, Phoebe Jakober, Guillym Davenport, Tim Quabba, Lee Mason and Marie-Clare Anastasia.
The Hidden Well also boasts five different writers including Alex Broun, Angus Brown, Krista Dalby, Amanda Miha and Jane Miller united with one director.
Each chapter of The Hidden Well is a simple human story devoid of effects and set pieces, but engineered by emotion and intimacy. Each new character, each new story reflect some kind of surprising crisis: a couple looking for connection, a young man faces a life changing request, a sex worker finding her estranged father, a devoted husband harbours a burning desire and a woman suffering from an emotional disease – all of them affected when fate intervenes.
Meanwhile, Chuter’s debut feature film, The Dream Children is now available for Australian audience to watch via haView and Ozflix.
The Hidden Well will be released towards the end of 2017.
