Jag Pannu Productions, in association with VCR Media, have officially signed with sales agent, NewGold Entertainment, to represent their feature film Broken Contract for worldwide distribution.
Broken Contract is a story about Max, a down on his luck strip club owner, who has his life and livelihood threatened by local gangsters, so he turns to his wife’s connections for help and hires a hitman to solve the problem once and for all. But before long, Max is blinded by his newfound power and his family finds him spinning off the rails as the body count piles up.
The film was written by writer/director James Pentecost and is produced by Hayden Fortescue. It stars Esther Anderson (Home and Away) and Christopher Morris (Offspring, Janet King).
The Italian based sales representatives are looking forward to bringing the film to buyers at the Cannes Film Maket in May with Toronto & AFM to follow later in the year.
At just 25 years old the films producer says it’s still been a long time coming. “Post Production on independent films like this can take a long time – especially when working with low budgets. It can be a blessing or a curse but I believe it’s worked out as well as we could have planned,” comments Fortescue.
While the sales strategy is yet to be finalized there are plans to have the film available to the public in the second half of the year – including a possible limited theatrical release in Australia.
