CinéfestOZ is calling for enthusiastic people to volunteer at the 26-30 August event.
More than 240 people volunteer their time to become the ‘face’ of CinéfestOZ during the five-day festival, performing essential duties including film ambassadors, general hospitality, festival promotion and ushers. A lucky number of volunteers take on roles of VIP hosts and drivers to VIPs.
Volunteers are being sought for Bunbury, Busselton and Margaret River, plus Augusta and Dunsborough. Festival CEO Malinda Nixon said great film festivals around the world relied of volunteers and that CinéfestOZ has grown its special brand of hospitality.
“Our volunteer Movie Crew are a terrific group who welcome our audiences, stars and VIPs to the South West each year to experience what we think is the friendliest film festival in Australia.
“As the public face of CinéfestOZ, movie crew volunteers are incredibly important to the festival. With over 40 events and more than 200 screenings, we rely heavily on volunteer support and we are grateful to everyone who is able to give up their time,” she said.
Volunteers can work the duration of the festival, or for as little as one day. In return, Movie Crew watch at least one general screening, wear the CinéfestOZ shirt and beret and attend a catered after-party in Busselton’s CinéfestOZ marquee.
Rio Tinto is a proud supporter of CinefestOZ Movie Crew.
