Madman Entertainment has announced a series of The Fox Q&A screenings around Australia in November, ahead of the national release of the darkly comic Australian film on November 26.

Holden, Heather Mitchell, Kim Gyngell and Peter O’Brien, with other surprise appearances in store. There will be special guest moderators at select screenings including Shaun Micallef, Luke McGregor, Rhys Nicholson, Nina Oyama, Wilbur Wilde, Gen Fricker and Michael Cusack, with more to be announced.
A darkly comic folktale blending satire and surrealism, The Fox stars Jai Courtney, Emily Browning, Damon Herriman, Claudia Doumit, Zlatko Burić, Frankie J. Holden, Heather Mitchell, Peter O’Brien, Kim Gyngell, Sam Neill as The Magpie, Miranda Otto and Academy Award® winner Olivia Colman as The Fox.

Named one of Variety’s eight Best Films at SXSW Austin, The Fox also won the Best Australian Director award at Melbourne International Film Festival, the Sydney Film Festival GIO Audience Award for Best Australian Feature and the Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature at the Calgary Underground Film Festival. The Fox was filmed in Adelaide, South Australia with the support of Screen Australia and the South Australian Film Corporation.
The Fox follows an affable yet hapless bloke who encounters a talking Fox offering him the chance to transform his fiancée into the perfect woman.
Nick (Jai Courtney), affable heir to a wealthy rural landowner, discovers his fiancée, Kori (Emily Browning), is cheating on him and wants nothing more than to just fix the problem. One night, he captures a rogue Fox (Olivia Colman), and she offers him a trade-off: if Nick lets her live, the Fox will help him save his relationship. All he has to do is push Kori into a magic hole with the power to change her into the perfect partner. Nick follows the Fox’s advice and the Kori who re-emerges seems to be everything he ever wanted. Until her strange new quirks make him question his decision.
A cautionary tale disguised as a comedy, the film explores the dangerous desire and temptation to want to change another person rather than confront our own shortcomings.
The Q&A event screenings kick off in November ahead of the film’s national cinema release on November 26. Details here.
