A Stable for Horses.

The Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival has announced the official selection of short films screening throughout the festival in 2026.

The Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival Short Film Competition is geared to independent filmmakers from around Australia. This exceptional showcase we will see two programs: The best short films from around Australia, and new films by the Griffith Film School participants that make films in Winton featuring Winton locals

All films will be vying for the much sought-after Lenton Awards named in memory of the first Chair of the Festival, the Honourable Butch Lenton.

Showcasing a diverse collection of emerging voices from across the country, this year’s lineup features comedy, drama, animation, First Nations storytelling, drone cinematography and everything in between.
