The 2020 Australia Independent Film Festival located in the heart of the Brisbane CBD spanned two sensational days across three incredible screening sessions at the iconic Elizabeth Picture Theatre.
Operating under an approved Covid safe plan the festival sold out both International Shorts and Australian Short film sessions.
During the festival Brisbane film lovers enjoyed some of the very best Australian and International short films, documentaries, animations and experimental films from across the globe. Filmmakers from across Queensland, South Australia, and industry shakers also attended the celebration which helped make it the go to film event of the year.
“In AIFF20 we were lucky enough to screen work that premiered at some of the most prestigious International festivals across the globe including Cannes. I think it really shows that AIFF is quickly becoming a festival that the people of Brisbane and Australia can be very proud to call their own,” said festival Co-Director Jeremy Rigby.
“We were honoured to receive submissions of the highest quality from Australia and all over the world, so it was an absolute pleasure to not only screen these films to an audience of avid film lovers, but also discuss the films from each session. I can’t wait to see what AIFF20’s finalists continue to create in the future, as there is no doubt that we will see big things!” – Festival Co-Director Richard Lawton.
