In this episode of the Cinema Australia Podcast host Matthew Eeles is joined by independent filmmaker Mike Green to discuss his new thriller, Outback.
Mike Green previously worked on award winning short film Mother, starring Maya Strange and the great Eddie Baroo. Green’s other short film credits include Fairytruth with Roy Billing and Die for Real which he co-wrote and co-directed with Ryder Grindle who had a small part in Rolf de Heer’s Bad Boy Bubby way back in 1993. Green also gained experience on Snowtown working as an additional unit assistant and as a director’s assistant on James Vanderbilt’s Truth starring Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford.
Outback is a survival nightmare based on the true story of an American couple, Wade (Taylor Wiese) and Lisa (Lauren Lofberg), who become stranded on their way to Uluru. Think Gerald Rocionato’s Cage Dive on dirt.
Outback will have its Sydney premiere on Saturday, November 2 at Event Cinemas George Street and will include a Q&A with cast and crew. Details here.
