Jeff Asselin’s Pinch announced as the next Australian Revelations title

Continuing its succession of popular screenings, Revelation Perth International Film Festival proudly announces its next screening title.

Australian Revelations is a celebration of Australian film via monthly screenings and the local film that pipped the big guns at the 2015 WA Screen Awards Pinch will headline the Monday 30 November event.

A coming of age crime drama telling the story of a light-fingered teen who rips off a major drug syndicate, the film won best feature film for writer/director Jeffory Asselin and Best Original Music for Ash Gibson-Greig at the 2015 WASAs.

Asselin will present a post-screening Q+A after the event which will be hosted by Cinema Australia’s Matthew Eeles.

Filmed in the less photogenic parts of Perth and surrounds, the film is a showcase of the local industry’s talent both in front and behind the camera and of the treasures to be found in less prestigious locations.

Rev loves independently produced work all kinds but when we get the opportunity to include local independent work, our pleasure is doubled… and we hope so is the audiences experience” says Revelation Director Richard Sowada of the film’s inclusion in the Australian Revelations program.

Each Australian Revelations feature screening will be accompanied by a Western Australian made short film, providing opportunities for local filmmakers to have their work seen by new audiences. Revelation encourages WA filmmakers to submit their film for consideration.

Australian Revelations will screen at the stunning new The Backlot Perth facility in West Perth and tickets are available via at

Stay tuned for Cinema Australia’s interview with Pinch director Jeff Asselin over the coming days.
