Ryan Corr stars as Timothy Conigrave in the warm, funny and achingly sad story of the 15 year long love affair with the boy he fell in love with at high school, John Caleo (played by Craig Stott). Tim was an aspiring actor. John, the captain of the school football team. Their relationship blossomed and endured in the face of prejudice, adversity and the cruel illness that devastated the gay community in the ’80s.

The film also stars Kerry Fox, Sarah Snook, Camilla Ah Kin, Guy Pearce and Anthony LaPaglia.

Holding the Man is an enduring Australian love story that will now speak to a new generation with the impending release of the movie. Timothy Conigrave’s memoir Holding the Man was first published in 1995. Seventeen years later the book is now an Orange Penguin Classic, reprinted 15 times in Australia alone. The success of the book continued onstage with productions across Australia as well as in the West End and Los Angeles.
