Today Umbrella unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming ripper Aussie comedy How to Talk Australians: The Movie, ahead of its nationwide theatrical release on 11 June.

How to Talk Australians is based on the hit web series of the same name that became a viral sensation and amassed more than 12 million YouTube views. This time we follow the students of the Delhi College of Linguistics as they leave the classroom behind and embark on a journey Down Under. When their flight is diverted to the regional town of Dubbo due to severe storms –  and their tour leader is detained by customs – the group unexpectedly discovers the “real” Australia,  despite never quite making it to Sydney, Melbourne, Uluru or even Adelaide.

The film offers a humorous and lighthearted take on Australian culture through the eyes of a group of Indian call centre workers, promising audiences from all backgrounds a wildly entertaining and laugh-out-loud theatrical experience – and some entertaining insights into Australian language

Fresh from a successful festival run in India, the film took home the celebrated Best Comedy Award at both the New Delhi International Film Festival and the Jaipur International Film Festival. More recently the film celebrated its debut on home soil with a sold-out premiere screening presented in partnership with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. The film will be released in cinemas nationwide on 11 June.
