Is The Steve Jaggi Company the busiest production company in Australia?

While nothing makes us happier than seeing filmmakers getting to work and creating something, we’d love an announcement that another film directed by Jaggi himself is in the works, following the filmmaker’s brilliant indie gem, Chocolate Oyster.

For now, here’s the presser regarding Jaggi’s new production, Love in Bloom:

Production has commenced in Brisbane this week on Love In Bloom, the latest feature film from The Steve Jaggi Company (SJc). Love In Bloom is the fourth feature film in the romance genre for SJc, following the recent success of Romance On The Menu (Hallmark US, Netflix ANZ), This Little Love Of Mine (Event and Village Cinema release, Netflix globally from July) and the forthcoming Christmas romance Sit. Stay. Love.

Love In Bloom stars US actor Susie Abromeit (Jessica Jones) as Chicago florist Amelia Hart, who returns to the small Australian town of Primrose River to help plan her sister’s wedding. Love In Bloom is written by Georgia Harrison (Rip Tide, This Little Love Of Mine) and directed by first time scripted feature director Rogue Rubin.  

Love In Bloom follows Amelia Hart (Susie Abromeit), a successful Chicago florist with a seemingly perfect life, including a boyfriend who is definitely about to propose. When her soon-to-be-married little sister (Melina Vidler – 800 Words, Kidnapped) and fiancé become marooned at a mountain retreat days before their wedding, Amelia and the best man, Grayson Tanner (Julian Haig – Riverdale, Retrograde), are tasked with stepping in to save the wedding. 

Despite getting off on the wrong foot, Amelia and Grayson prove to be a dynamic team. With the help of the townspeople, Amelia and Grayson prepare for the wedding to be held in the town’s beautiful Hummingbird Gardens. As they get closer to the big day, Amelia realises her life back in the city isn’t as perfect as she once thought, and she begins to see more colour and life in the small town and its people than in her favourite bustling city of Chicago. The longer she spends in Primrose River, and with Grayson, the more she questions where she really belongs.

Love In Bloom is shooting in a range of locations in and around Brisbane. Supporting cast members for the film include Monette Lee, Steven Tandy, Melina Vidler, Joey Vieira and Jason Wilder. 

Susie Abromeit comments “It is a thrill to be here in Australia for the very first time, shooting this sweet story centred around following your heart. The whole team here in Brisbane have been so welcoming, and I look forward to making the most of my time in this gorgeous part of the world.”

Director Rogue Rubin adds “After months of planning, it is amazing to be in Brisbane with the incredible SJc team who are so supportive of diverse female talent. What makes this movie truly resonate with me is its charm. We are living in a very isolating period of time where social media is distancing us even more. This beautiful film reminds us of old school values; where families and friends are still the most important people in our lives and that finding true love is more than just swiping right on an app – but learning to open your heart to the person in front of you.” 

Producers Steve Jaggi and Spencer McLaren are proud to be delivering another romance genre film for the under-serviced female audience segment. They comment “the romance genre has seen an increase in demand over the past 12 months which can be attributed to a worldwide desire for escapism and love in a time of uncertainty and despair. With its stunning garden backdrop, and a beautiful story at its heart, we can’t wait to share Love In Bloom with audiences later this year.”

Love In Bloom is produced by Steve Jaggi and Spencer McLaren with Kylie Pascoe and Kelly Son Hing co-producing. The production’s cast and crew are adhering to COVID-safe filming practices, and closely following guidelines set by the Queensland government. Love In Bloom will be distributed in Australia by Pivot Pictures, with U.S based Nicely Entertainment handling international sales.
