Revelation Perth International Film Festival has announced the latest addition to its 2020 Couched program.

The critically-acclaimed horror In the Shadow it Waits will join other Australian films on the Couched lineup including Bloodshot Heart, A Family and Morgana.

A groundbreaking event, In the Shadow it Waits is a horror film performed live and edited in real-time.

With 61 Scenes, 58 Camera Setup and actors performing live from their own homes in different states across Australia, the film is made as you watch it. Each performance is a different experience and Revelation Perth International Film Festival is proud to be presenting two live screenings.

In the Shadow it Waits was created by Michael Beets – an award winning director whose virtual reality projects, music videos, and films have been screened at festivals around the world including Venice Film Festival, Cannes, Busan, Toronto International Film Festival, and the Melbourne International Film Festival.

In 2018 Michael’s interactive VR work titled The Unknown Patient was nominated for two awards at the 75th Venice Film Festival, and won the VR Award at the Adelaide Film Festival. He also won audience choice award for his music video Gordi: Bitter End at the St. Kilda Film Festival. Michael was also nominated for a 2019 ADG award for best direction in an immersive experience.
