Hearts and Bones is heading direct to digital platforms from May 6.
Ben Lawrence’s new Australian drama follows war photographer Daniel Fisher (Hugo Weaving) who has returned home to the news of his partner’s pregnancy.
While preparing for his latest exhibition, a South Sudanese refugee appears at Daniel’s door with a request – that he not exhibit any photographs of the massacre in his village, taken 15 years earlier.
What emerges is an unlikely friendship between the two men. While sifting through the photographer’s archive, they make a startling discovery – the refugee’s daughter, thought dead, may still be alive. As more revelations arise, both men begin to question their past and in searching, they discover salvation.
Hearts and Bones stars Weaving alongsideAndrew Luri, Hayley McElhinney, Bolude Watson and Alan Dukes. The film is produced by Matt Reeder.
Hearts and Bones had a successful run at film festivals last year with screenings at Sydney Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival and CinefestOZ in Western Australia. The film also received critical acclaim with veteran Australian film critic Margaret Pomeranz labelling the film, “a triumph”.
Hearts and Bones will be available to rent via iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, Sony Playstation, Telstra & Fetch TV before being released on DVD from June 3.
