A 2K digital restoration of Digby Duncan’s 1980’s documentary Witches and Faggots, Dykes and Poofters will screen at next year’s Mardi Gras Film Festival.
Recently restored by the Australian National Film and Sound Archive, Witches and Faggots, Dykes and Poofters is the story of the very first Mardi Gras from those who were there on the night of the 24th June, 1978.
Documenting the police brutality and the events and political action that unfolded afterwards, Witches and Faggots, Dykes and Poofters hears from those directly affected, now proudly known as ‘the 78ers’.
Witches and Faggots, Dykes and Poofters has undergone a 2K digital restoration as part of the NFSA Restores program which ensures important films such as this are preserved at the highest standards, making them available to cinema audiences once again.
Further details about the screening can be found here.
Hello,
Is it possible to buy a copy of a DVD, if they are available at all?
Regards all,
Ian Roberts
