Cinema Australia is giving three lucky readers the chance to win a double pass to a special Q&A screening of Embrace with director Taryn Brumfitt in attendance.
The screening will take place at Luna Leederville on Tuesday, 26 July at 6.30pm.
Taryn Brumfitt is a writer, speaker and founder of the Body Image Movement. Her debut film, Embrace, is the most successfully crowdfunded documentary in Australia to date, and the good news is Taryn is coming to Luna Cinemas Leederville on Tuesday 26 July where she will present and talk about her amazing empowering film following the 6.30pm session. Her best-selling book EMBRACE “My story from body loather to body lover” will be on sale courtesy of Northside Books at the screening. Taryn will also be available for a book-signing following the Q&A session.
At home in Adelaide, Australia, Taryn Brumfitt is a wife and mother of three. But internationally, she is a highly recognised body image activist whose powerful message has reached over 100 million people worldwide via traditional and social media.
When body image activist Taryn Brumfitt posted an unconventional before-and-after photograph in 2013, it was seen by more than 100 million worldwide and sparked an international media frenzy. In her forceful debut, Brumfitt continues her crusade exploring the global issue of body loathing. She travels the world to interview an impressive range of women about their attitudes to their bodies, including: Mia Freedman, the youngest ever editor of the Australian edition of Cosmopolitan; Emmy Award-winning television presenter Ricki Lake; Adelaide researcher Professor Marika Tiggemann; UK talk show host/photographer Amanda de Cadenet; body image blogger Jes Baker (a.k.a. These days Taryn is sought after internationally as a keynote speaker, she was rated as General Electrics “most highly rated speaker in 2013” and more recently was invited to present at Google headquarters in Silicon Valley. She was also recently recognized alongside Beyonce and Kate Moss in Brigette magazines acclaimed ‘Women of The Year’ awards in Germany.
