The Cinema Australia team has been dying to get our first look at director Abe Forsythe’s new film, Down Under and we couldn’t be any more excited after seeing this first trailer released today.
It’s been a long time between drinks for Forsythe, whose last film was Ned, 13 YEARS AGO!
A fine balance between very dark comedy and drama, Down Under is the story of two carloads of hotheads from both sides of the fight destined to collide set during the aftermath of the Cronulla riots.
Sincere, though misguided, intent gives way to farcical ineptitude as this hilarious yet poignant story of ignorance, fear and kebab-cravings unfolds, and what was meant to be a retaliation mission turns into something neither side could have imagined.
Down Under will premiere at this year’s Sydney Film Festival. Details here. Down Under hits cinemas nationally from August 11.
