Crushed is the story of a young woman who returns home to her family vineyard after her father dies in an accident on the winery. But when his death is ruled a murder and her mother becomes the prime suspect, she must uncover the truth. Australia’s stunning wine country is the backdrop for this thrilling murder mystery.
Crushed had its world premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival and has screened/is screening at a number of festivals, including Napa Valley Film Festival late last year and Miami International Film Festival and Vancouver International Women in Film Festival in March. Crushed is Megan Riakos’s debut feature film and was nominated for the Golden Zenith Award for first feature Films in Montreal, won Best Thriller and Best Actress (Sarah Bishop) at Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival and won Best Australian Director at the Fantastic Planet Film Festival. Crushed also received some great press, including a review in The Hollywood Reporter calling Crushed “A solid debut”.
