Entries are now open for the 28th Annual West Australian Screen Awards

FTI have announced that nominations are now open for 28th Annual West Australian Screen Awards (WASAs)

The WASAs celebrates the vibrancy of the WA screen sector, connecting screen practitioners of all disciplines; film, television, online and interactive games, honouring high achievement, local production, dynamic content and key individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the West Australian industry.

FTI, in conjunction with the Revelation Perth International Film Festival annually host The West Australian Screen Awards, presenting 33 awards, such as; Best Film (Drama and Factual, Short Form and Feature Length), Television Production (Drama, Factual and Live Broadcast), Best: Animation, Music Video, Game and Interactive Production. Best: Script, Direction, Cinematography, Sound, Production Design, Editing, Performance, Original Music and Visual FX. Including the  annual Young filmmaker of the Year, Best Student Film and The Peoples Choice Award.

In 2015, FTI attracted 479 entries from 162 screen projects across 33 categories, and are expecting to break this record in 2016 with the success of WA films over the past year.
The 2016 red carpet event will feature VIP guests, world-class service, and over 500 film industry leaders, Western Australian screen practitioners, media, sponsors and government officials will come together to celebrate the very best in West Australian screen production. Held at the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia, Monday 4th July, 2016.
Nominees will be announced in late May and the 28th Annual WASAs will be held on Monday 4 July 2016 at the prestigious Heath Ledger Theatre at the State Theatre.

Entry to the WASAs is through FTI’s online portal. Submissions close 5pm Thursday, March 31.
