Shenton Park Dog Refuge to benefit from FTI Q&A Screening of RED DOG with Producer, Nelson Woss
Next Thursday, 28 August, FTI and Producer Nelson Woss will present a screening of the feature film RED DOG at the State Library of WA. A special meet the filmmaker screening and Q&A will follow immediately.
RED DOG is one of Australia’s most successful films, taking in $21 million at the box office and remains the highest selling Australian DVD of all time. A few of the many accolades won by the film include a trio of “Best Feature Film” awards from IF Awards, AACTAs and WA Screen Awards respectively. The film was an adaptation of the Louis de Bernières best-selling book.
Before the success of RED DOG, Nelson Woss was best known for co-producing 2003 feature, NED KELLY, which stared Heath Ledger, Orlando Bloom Naomi Watts and Geoffrey Rush.
Nelson Woss is currently in pre-production on his next feature, BLUE DOG, which will be a follow up film to RED DOG.
Following the screening of RED DOG at the State library of WA, Nelson will take questions from the audience and provide some practical advice to those seeking to forge their own careers in the screen industry.
Entry is by donation to the general public and free for FTI members. 50% of all proceeds from the screening will be donated to the Shenton Park Dog Refuge.
Networking drinks will be held in the theatre foyer, before and after the screening.
The meet the filmmaker event is an initiative of FTI, which works to enhance the vibrancy of the WA Screen Sector by providing skills and career development, facilitating professional networking opportunities, and production development and support.
