Downriver may have already met its crowd-funding target with punters having pledged just over $40,000, but the film was given a deserving boost recently by Film Victoria.
Grant Scicluna’s mystery drama will share in just over a million dollars funding support through Film Victoria’s Assigned Production Investment program.
Other feature films to share in the funding will be Lynn-Maree Milburn’s and Richard Lowenstein’s Ecco Homo and Sue Brooks’ Looking for Grace.
Five other television programs will also share in the funding.
Downriver is described as being a mystery film in the style of Winter’s Bone, The Boys and the critically acclaimed Top of the Lake.
If you’d like to pledge money towards the project you can check it out on Pozible here.
