Trailer and release date revealed for Luke Sparke’s dino-actioner Primitive War

A new trailer and an official release date have been announced for Luke Sparke’s Australian dino-actioner, Primitive War. 

Based on the popular novel The Primitive War by Ethan Pettus, Primitive War is set in Vietnam in 1968 and follows a recon unit known as Vulture Squad who are sent to an isolated jungle valley to uncover the fate of a missing Green Beret platoon. They soon discover they are not alone. 

Primitive War is an action-packed war film that pits battle hardened soldiers against the greatest predators that ever walked the earth.

Primitive War is written and directed by Sparke, produced by Carly Sparke and Carmel Imrie of Sparke Films.

The film stars Jeremy Piven (Entourage), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Screen Actors Guild Nominee Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) Nick Wechsler (The Boys) alongside a slew of ensemble talent including Anthony Ingruber (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), Aaron Glenane (Danger Close), Carlos Sanson Jr (Bump), Ana Thu Nguyen (Mortal Kombat 2), Albert Mwangi (Blueback), Adolphus Waylee (Nautilus), Marcus Johnson (Talk to Me) and Jake Ryan (Underbelly), Lincoln Lewis (Tomorrow When the War Began), Henry Nixon (High Country) and Jeremy Lindsay Taylor (Underbelly).

Primitive War will land in Australian cinemas from August 21.
