The darkly comedic and sharp-witted Carnal Vessels, will be screened at the Gold Coast Film Festival on May 7, before its digital release on May 15 via Radioactive.

Written and directed by Angus Kirby, the film follows two friends whose casual fling takes a bizarre turn when they mysteriously swap bodies, forcing them to confront their own identities, desires, and unexpected revelations in ways they never imagined.

This uniquely macabre and hilarious take on love and self-discovery, has been officially selected for the Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF) 2025, premiering on May 7 at Home of the Arts (HOTA), Gold Coast.

Festival attendees will be among the first to experience the film’s offbeat charm, razor-sharp humour, and unexpected twists. Following the premiere at GCFF, Carnal Vessels will have several special theatrical engagements across Australia.

Following its festival debut, Carnal Vessels will release across VOD platforms in Australia and New Zealand on May 15, launching on Prime Video, Apple TV, and Google Play.

Carnal Vessels will also be broadcast on Channel 9 from January 2026, with further streaming platform announcements coming soon.

“We love films that push boundaries, and Carnal Vessels does so with wicked humor, heart, and just the right amount of existential horror,” said Jessica.

“It’s smart, it’s hilarious, and it’s going to hit audiences in all the right (and wrong) ways. We can’t wait for everyone to experience it at GCFF and then on VOD this May.”

“We’re overjoyed people will be able to see Carnal Vessels and the work the cast and crew put into the film,” said riter and director Angus Kirby and Producer Mihir Chakrapani in a joint statement.

“Thanks to Radioactive Pictures for having us and taking bold swings in Australian film. Please watch it with your parents for the optimal viewing experience.”

With its festival premiere set and a digital release on the horizon, Carnal Vessels is ready to shake up audiences with its uniquely twisted take on love.
