Radioactive Pictures has announced the release of Santa Hunters, an unconventional holiday mockumentary that will be available to stream on Amazon Prime starting December 1, 2024.
Santa Hunters is set to make its mark during the festive season, bringing laughter, heart, and plenty of surprises to audiences.
This mockumentary follows a documentary crew chronicling the exploits of three eccentric individuals, Kristopher (Chris Slater), Nick (Andrew Lowe) and Dr. Evelyn Kaur (Janelle Bailey), in their bizarre quests to find Santa Claus.
While the premise begins with comedic absurdity, Santa Hunters quickly reveals itself as an exploration of resilience, ambition, and the human spirit. The film’s ability to blend sharp humour with genuine heart makes it a standout addition to holiday entertainment.
“Santa Hunters begins as a goofy tale with funny characters trying to do something silly. But just as you’re getting cozy, it pulls the rug out from underneath you, transforming into a story about those who dare to dream. Surrounded by doubt and impossible odds, they push on anyway,” says co-directors Richard Jamze and Natalie Rose.
At its core, Santa Hunters is a testament to the power of dreaming big in the face of adversity. As Richard and Natalie explains, the story resonates with anyone who has faced doubt or impossible odds.
“Santa Hunters was our first foray into features. With no funding to speak of, we gathered a team of our most gifted friends and collaborators to create something that couldn’t have been made any other way. Much like the story itself, we pushed up against what we thought was possible. It’s a film about pursuing passion against all odds, made by a team who did exactly that. We hope it resonates with audiences and leaves them feeling inspired.”
This passion-driven production embodies the magic of indie filmmaking, offering audiences a comedic journey that also warms the heart.
Santa Hunters will be available on Amazon Prime from December 1. Keep an eye on cinemaaustralia.com.au next week for our interview with Richard and Natalie.
