Erin Connor in Double or Nothing.
Double or Nothing, the highly anticipated Australian crime comedy, stars actress and executive producer Erin Connor in a gripping face-off against some of Australia’s most notorious on-screen bad boys, including Vince Colosimo (Underbelly) and John Jarratt (Wolf Creek). Connor’s fierce portrayal of the lead female role is set to captivate audiences, guiding an all-star cast through a dramatic and fun story.
Directed by Dru Brown, Double or Nothing follows two ex-con cousins on a desperate race to secure $50,000, navigating a treacherous world filled with colourful and shady characters. The stellar cast also includes Steve Mouzakis (The Suicide Theory) and Robert Rabiah (Chopper). The film combines the gritty tension of Mr Inbetween with the comedic undertones of The Big Lebowski.
Erin Connor, no stranger to strong and memorable roles, brings her experience from films like Beast No More (opposite Jessica Tovey and Dan Ewing) to this project. Her versatility also shines in lighter roles, such as her recent performance in the Hallmark rom-com When Love Springs, where she played a witty, warm-hearted romantic.

Director Dru Brown specifically crafted the lead role for Connor, having originally cast her in his debut feature The Suicide Theory over a decade ago. “Working with Dru again was an easy decision,” Connor says. “He’s incredibly talented and a wonderful person. I was on board as soon as he called!” In addition to her lead role, Connor stepped into the role of executive producer, bringing her industry expertise to the Queensland-based project.
“Producing is so fulfilling and exciting, especially when it’s a local project close to home,” Connor explains. “Independent films thrive on a collective effort. It’s a time when our supportive film industry family comes together to make things happen. I also believe in empowering women to take on leadership roles and have confidence in their abilities.”
With Double or Nothing, Erin Connor continues to build a career defined by bold choices and dynamic performances, both in front of and behind the camera. The film is set to make waves in the Australian film scene and beyond, marking another major milestone in her flourishing career.
Double or Nothing will celebrate its world premiere at the Brisbane International Film Festival on October 27, 2024. Details here.
