Dru Brown, writer and director of Double or Nothing, has announced that Brown Python Films has secured a distribution deal for ANZ with Australian distributor, Radioactive.
Double or Nothing follows two ex-con cousins, Nick and Turbo, played by Rowan Howard and Andrew Ian-Pope, as they race against time to recover $50,000 for a ruthless Mob boss. The film blends elements of dark comedy and high-octane action, with tension mounting as the cousins’ desperate efforts land them deeper into trouble.
“We wanted to create a film that’s a rollercoaster of emotions—fun, suspenseful, and full of surprises,” says director Dru Brown. “Double or Nothing is a love letter to the gritty yet beautiful spirit of Southeast Queensland, with influences from 90s cult classics like Two Hands and The Big Lebowski.”
The film boasts an impressive cast of Australian talent, including John Jarratt as a father figure to the cousins, and Vince Colosimo as a menacing Mobster. Also starring are Robert Rabiah and Steve Mouzakis, adding depth and energy to the film’s already dynamic lineup.
Shot across stunning locations in Ipswich and the Gold Coast, Double or Nothing is not just an action-packed ride but also a tribute to the region’s distinct beauty and local talent. The film was made possible through collaborations with local businesses and crew, underscoring the strength of the region’s film industry.
