Horrifying psychological thriller Lenore adds two new cast members, David Gannon (Elvis) and Freya Callaghan (True Spirit).

Over the course of one restless evening, troubled documentary filmmaker Max Wren unravels the terrible truth about what became of a beloved online performance artist Lenore – a truth that pushes him to the brink of insanity.

As an actor first and foremost, David Gannon has performed in multiple productions at The Arts Centre and MTC theaters and appeared on TV shows such as Spreadsheet, City Homicide, Rush, ABC3’s Prank Patrol & Gallipoli. He has a handful of feature credits, but most notably just starred in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis in the role of Charlie Hodge (Elvis’ close friend, housemate and backup singer) acting with the likes of Austin Butler, Tom Hanks & Richard Roxburgh. David is not one to wait for the phone to ring, consistently creating award-winning work with his Cameralla colleagues.

Gannon said of joining Lenore: “I got involved with this project at a very late stage in the process, after watching the test-screening. First of all, it is remarkable what they have been able to achieve with the budget constants, and secondly, the story they are looking to tell is all too relevant for our current day & age – I was eager to be involved. I initially saw my role of Russel Fawkner (online commentator), as an American, Ben Shapiro-type character, but as we started to entertain the idea of him being Australian, it seemed to suit the film more. We have plenty of opinionated conservative spokespeople in our own backyard fuelling fires, why not shine a light on that and the harm it can cause too?”

Freya Callaghan is a young and emerging Australian actor, portraying Young Emily Watson in the Netflix production True Spirit (2023), playing Vee in the AACTA Nominated short Wendy and Vee (2022). She also has multiple projects in Post Production.

Callaghan said of joining Lenore: “I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of Lenore and work with director David Ward and Riley Sugars. Without giving too much away….. I loved the idea of my crazy character and had great fun with the audition piece. I loved being able to openly play with this obsessed person.”

The film is currently in post production, with distribution conversations underway.
