A complex hero, strong fight scenes, and a plot that will keep audiences engaged.

Stephen Degenaro has announced his new film, Raging Jake, where he serves as writer, actor, and director. The action thriller is currently seeking funding on the Australian Cultural Fund crowdfunding website.

Set to start filming from mid-October to November 2024, Raging Jake tells the story of Jake, who investigates his mother’s suspicious death, his missing brother, and his secretive father. The film will shoot in regional Victoria, including locations like Little River, Ballarat, Clunes, and Lake Tyrrells.

Raging Jake boasts a cast of Australian leads and supporting actors, with more details to be revealed soon. The crew, experienced from working together on previous projects, aims to create a engaging movie that will entertain audiences worldwide.

The film’s long-term goals include boosting local talent, creating jobs, and supporting the regional economy. Donations will cover production costs, equipment, locations, and travel expenses for the five-week shoot during the Australian summer, followed by six months of post-production.

Donors contributing over $2 will not only receive a tax deduction but also a special thank you in the movie’s credits. Raging Jake aims to showcase Australian talent in martial arts action, bringing attention to indie filmmaking excellence from down under, inspired by films like Animal Kingdom, The Wrestler, and No Country For Old Men.
