Shit.

Bounty Films are bringing the raw, intense film adaptation of Patricia Cornelius’ award-winning play, Shit, to Cinema Nova for a special ‘Meet The Filmmaker’ screening on Friday December 15 at 7.00pm.
Adapted from the hit play Shit, which premiered at the Melbourne Theatre Company (2015) and has played 8 seasons nationally and internationally, winning multiple awards including four Greenroom Awards and receiving a Helpmann Nomination for director Susie Dee. The film adaptation not only continues the collaboration of writer Patricia Cornelius and director Susie Dee, but embraces the original cast – Sarah Ward, Nicci Wilks and Peta Brady – who bring a savage authenticity to their roles and inhabit the characters with complexity and courage.
Based on Patricia Cornelius’ award winning play and brought to the screen by debut feature directors Susie Dee and Trudy Hellier, Shit: Three Women, One Dreadful Crime asks the audience to consider how violence begets violence and leaves a lasting and visceral impression. With a beautifully interwoven dual narrative, the story takes you through their history, and the frightening events that led up to their imprisonment, building the suspense to a truly terrifying climax.
An important work in the context of Australian theatre, brought to the screen by the original creative team, screening for one night at Cinema Nova, Shit: Three Women, One Dreadful Crime is a truly original work not to be missed.
