What a cracker of a Melbourne night it was on Saturday, March 4 when the Stellar Short Film Festival hosted its fourth annual event.
VIP and General Admission guests had a magical experience under the stars in the natural amphitheatre of the beautiful McClelland Sculpture Park & Gallery in Langwarrin, surrounded by sculptures dotted amongst the native bushland.
Filmmakers, actors and judges flew in from around the country to join the happy crowd of 1,000 on this perfect autumn evening.
Run by good friends Jasmine and Sarah, these two women have certainly created a film festival unlike any other in Australia. Everything about Stellar is premium – the location, food and beverages, entertainment, VIP experience, people, sponsors, and especially the films.
Ticket holders were treated to a carefully curated selection of 12 of the very best award-winning Australian short films. The absolute cream of the filmmaking crop and without a doubt the best selection of short films in one festival.

The crowd enjoys the 2023 Stellar Short Film Festival.
Filmmakers, this festival should be what you’re aiming for – not just because your film will be recognised as one of the top 12 in the country, but because at Stellar you’ll be treated like a star. This is a festival where filmmakers fly in from around the country, are welcomed at an exclusive Industry Networking Night, are platformed and celebrated at the festival itself the next evening, and get to watch their films in front of the large and appreciative audience in a gorgeous outdoor setting.
To top it off, new friendships are cemented at the afterparty, and everyone goes home with a killer Swag Bag filled with first-rate products and luxury treats.
The winners of Stellar 2023, as judged by a panel of industry experts including Michael Caton, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Natalie Erika James, Scott Major and Bradley Slabe, were:

Riley Sugars, Anthony Littlechild and Jackson Tozer.
