Carnifex

Maslow Entertainment has revealed the trailer, first look key art, and announced the release date for, Carnifex, a terrifying, original new environmental horror/thriller set deep in the Australian outback, exploring the impact of catastrophic environmental events and the threat posed by the largest known carnivorous Australian mammal – the Carnifex.
Set to arrive in Australian cinemas nationally on December 1st, 2022, the film will be released theatrically in Australia by Maslow Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures Content Group.
Carnifex follows Bailey (The Royals’ Alexandra Park) an aspiring documentary maker, as she joins conservationists Grace (Vampire Academy‘s Sisi Stringer) and Ben (Hacksaw Ridge’s Harry Greenwood) to travel deep into the Australian outback to track and record native animals left displaced and devasted by recent bushfires. As night falls, the unsuspecting trio discover a terrifying species – the carnifex, and soon find themselves the ones being tracked.
Exploring the potentially terrifying impacts of climate change, Carnifex is an elevated creature feature that will do for the Australian outback what Jaws did for the oceans.
Carnifex is directed by Sean Lahiff and produced by Helen Leake and Gena Helen Ashwell.
