Celebrating the achievement, innovation and ambition of our local industry, the WA Screen Culture Awards (WASCAs) will take place on Sunday 4 December at Luna Cinemas Leederville.

Embracing all forms of new, established and emerging screen practices, Awards will be presented across 22 categories at what promises to be an extra special evening hosted by comedian Joe White.

Semi-finalist on Australia’s Got Talent, Ethiopian-Australian comedian Joe White has been referred to as “Down Under’s Trevor Noah” by the New York Post and has taken home Fringe World Festival’s Best Comedy Award three years running.

Arriving in Perth as a refugee at the age of 11, White turned to comedy in trying to find laughter in the midst of hardship and his stand-up routine has seen recent sold out shows in Perth and Melbourne Comedy Festivals.
