As a non-profit website dedicated to the support and promotion of Australian made films, Cinema Australia rarely gets the opportunity to throw cash at crowdfunding projects. Trust us, if we had the money we’d be executive producers on almost every new Australian film calling for supporters through the myriad of crowdfunding platforms available on the interwebs.
That’s why we’ve launched this feature – The Crowdfunders – which will shamelessly plug projects calling for your dollar. It’s just another way for us to do what we love doing most – supporting Aussie cinema!

Broken
Broken follows the story of Tanner, an Australian born kid to migrant parents. Tanner is a disenfranchised teenage kid who struggles to really connect with his family on any level and seeks to explore life and his place in it. The film explores the decisions we make that are influenced by the past and how that affects not only the people around us but the people we love.
Broken will be shot across 4 days in the middle of September in a remote house on the hills of Mt. Franklin. A perfect location for the cinematic cold overcast tones of the film.
Broken is written by Alper Kasap, a Melbourne based cinematographer who has photographed close to 15 shot films but this time embarks on the journey of writing, directing and photographing his own film. The production designer of the film is Adele Flere whose has credits include work such as Offspring, Underbelly and The Secret Life Of Us.
