The Babadook is a psychological thriller starring Essie Davis (The Matrix, Girl With a Pearl Earring, Australia) as a single mother plagued by the violent death of her husband. When a disturbing storybook called ‘Mr. Babadook’ turns up at her house she is forced to battle with her son’s deep seated fear of a monster. Soon she discovers a sinister presence all around her…
Cinefans presents The Babadook at Orana Cinemas, Busselton on the 26th of June, a not for profit initiative by CinefestOZ. Tickets are $25, including pre-screening drinks & nibbles, from 5:30pm at Orana. First time writer-director Jennifer Kent received rave reviews after screening as part of the Official Selection for Sundance Festival in January this year.
