When’s it out? November 21, 2013
Who’s in it? Naomi Watts, Robin Wright, Xavier Samuel, James Frecheville, Ben Mendelsohn, Sophie Lowe
And the director? Anne Fontaine
Cinema Australia say: We’re really looking forward to this one. Robin Wright seems to have joined the likes of Liev Schreiber (Mental) and Tom Wilkinson (Felony), as American actors mastering the Aussie accent, if the trailer is anything to go by.
Adoration also marks a very welcoming return to Australian cinema for James Frecheville (Animal Kingdom) who’s last gig was Russian Rom-Com-Dra The First Time.
Hopscotch Films say: Based on the novella by the acclaimed Nobel Prize winning writer Doris Lessing, a fearless portrait of love, lust and the power of friendship, Adoration tells the story of Lil (Naomi Watts) and Roz (Robin Wright), two lifelong friends living in a tranquil Australian seaside town, who embark on separate, passionate affairs that will change them forever.
A Hopscotch Features co-production, Adoration was shot on the picturesque north coast of NSW, and features an exquisite visual confidence coupled with a bold approach to storytelling. Adapted by Academy Award-winner Christopher Hampton (Atonement, Dangerous Liaisons) and directed by Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel) Adoration, radiating with a sweltering sensuality, is a provocative, sexy and fascinating film.
