Independent Australian filmmaker, Davo Hardy, has announced his sixth feature film, The Switchblade Sisterhood.

Hardy saw a lot of success in 2022; with his controversial feature Public Eye going all the way to the AACTAs and garnering over a dozen prestigious awards, worldwide.

2022 also saw the launch of his own distribution platform; Davo Hardy Films which currently hosts his entire catalogue of film titles, making them available for streaming and on-demand DVD purchase, around the world.

Davo is now in pre-production for his sixth feature, The Switchblade Sisterhood.

While paying homage to the 1975 grindhouse film The Jezabels, sometimes known as The Switchblade Sisters, this film does away with the tale of gang warfare and vigilante violence, to focus instead on a young woman, Breanna, who’s grieving the loss of her mother; a woman who kept a lot of secrets.

Among the stash of buried family secrets, Breanna learns of her estranged half-sister, who shows up one afternoon, demanding answers about her history.

Drawing on themes of femimism, gender equality and the evolving role of women, The Switchblade Sisterhood will star British Flower, who appeared with Davo in Public Eye.

Also an accomplished musician, British will be providing some original music to the film’s soundtrack.

Kieran Hudson and Jason Spindlow will also star in the film.

Production is slated for April 2023 and we are excited to bring more information about this title and its release as they come to hand.
